Sep 25, 2013 9:48 AM in response to sushigirl12by bex1721987,Ask Siri to turn on Voice Control. It will turn Voice Control on and Switch Control off. In Accessibility, turn off all switches in Switch Control, then turn it off. From there, turn off Voice Control. That's how I did it.

Oct 8, 2013 10:19 PM in response to ShanEDFby BuzCarter,ShanED's solution, "triple click the home button", did (finally) work, but only after we'd told Siri to "Open Accesibility Settings".
Thanks everyone on this thread for sharing your solutions.
(We, too, had that circular argument with Siri to no avail: "Disable Switch Control" Siri: "Which Setting?" ... Arrrrgh!)

Oct 9, 2013 11:02 PM in response to BuzCarterby ajou,The only thing that helped me was to go to iCloud and use the find my iPad and empty the device. Then I just restored from the backup on my Mac.
BUT the reason why my iPad got locked was that I had made a mistake in selecting the Accessability shortcut. It must be Switch control, other wise you are in trouble, if you set the screen to work as single switch and have autoscanning on.
Have a look at AbleNets video

Hold down home button and power until iPhone turns off.

Oct 21, 2013 11:52 PM in response to Tain101by kmh8,Ugh, what a pain in the butt! I tried plugging my phone into itunes after resetting it, so I had to enter my passcode. Which I couldn't do because my screen was frozen. So I attempted the triple-click home screen once again and just could not do it right away. What helped me was while I had my phone plugged in, I held the home button and power button down at the same time until it reset, and as soon as my phone vibrated as it turned back on, indicating it was charging, I clicked the home screen three times, even though it was still the white screen, not the lock screen. Then when the lock screen appeared, the little tab at the bottom was already up, giving me enough time to click on "switch control".

Oct 23, 2013 1:19 PM in response to AxtioN1by LilDruMinion,OK I had this problem for a while but I think i figured it out.
If the triple click doesn't work go into Settings > Accessibility > Switch Control to "OFF".
If you try the triple click and it STILL does the same thing try Settings > Accessibility again and then scroll down to Accessibility Shortcut. There you'll see 5 options. If the "switch control" is checked, then just uncheck it. If you want the triple-click to do something else (e.g.: VoiceOver or Zoom) then check that one.
Now, if your screen is unresponsive i'm really sorry but i can't help you there. This is all mainly for the iPhone, but it may (or may not) work for the iPad. I don't have one to test out so best of luck to you.

Nov 20, 2013 5:00 PM in response to Tain101by Jordinoh,I just turned mine off.
1.) hold the home and off button.
2.) Hold it again after it turns off
3.) Don't wait to do the triple click home button thing.
4.) as fast as you can press the switch control button multiple times (3 worked for me)
Hope this helped :)
