Jun 17, 2014 6:41 PM in response to mahausby Virgilhilts,I've had many Apple Mac computers since 1994, and they have always been excellent pieces of equipment. The original ethic of Apple was intuitive, user-friendly, drag and drop principle. However, the iphone in my opinion has completely departed from this ethic.
Transferring a photo from your phone to a computer should be one of the easiest and most basic functions it can perform. I have a 10 year old push-button Nokia that can bluetooth a photo to any other bluetooth device in an instant.
However, for some reason, best known to Apple, they have now decided to make this process as convoluted as possible. No longer can one perform this simple task by via direct bluetooth link - oh no - you have to sync, and otherwise bugger about for hours trying to get one stupid picture from your phone to the computer.
They say you can email it - but what if one doesn't want email set up on their phone - I get enough email pouring in through my computer without having it spewing out of my phone as well, and even if you did have email set up, how is that better than bluetooth - it's going backwards - that's what we used to have to do before bluetooth.
The poster above - elmac - illustrates how backwards this all is now, as he spends 'hours of trial and error' figuring all this crap out, and the 'best part of a day resetting his iphone' - these things are supposed to make our lives easier! Who wants to spend a day resetting their stupid phone!
Sorry Apple, your iphone is backwards technolgoy if it can't transfer a photo quickly and easily to another device in seconds without having to play Krypton Factor in order to do so. Even the **** Air Drop doesn't work between IOS and OSX - how massively crap is that.
As soon as my contract is up on this useless fascist slab, it's a Nokia for me, and the iphone will be launched from a vehicle at high speed.

Jul 31, 2014 2:57 PM in response to Virgilhiltsby katier19,I agree. I just wanted to transfer about 20 photos from my iphoto on mac to my iphone to show family and I don't want ALL of my 20,000 pix to be synced to my iphone. Should be able to simply drag them to phone it seems to me. Please keep apple user friendly! Along same linee, why is it so complicated to send a video from imac? I still love apple but please give us choices and don't make things almost impossible that are common/obvious needs. Thank you

Sep 25, 2014 1:16 AM in response to mahausby Stellaengge,I think a program called PhoneView for the Mac might help you with this. I saw it at the MacHeist site and I believe I could see all my photo folders, not just the camera roll one.

Oct 24, 2014 1:54 AM in response to mahausby LucilleRhoda,You can transfer photos from mac to iPhone with iTunes. It requires that you have your iPhone attached to your Mac using a cable.
- In Mac, create a folder with the photos you want to transfer.
- In iTunes, press your device name and switch to the Photos tab in the right panel.
- Choose the folder you just created.
- Click the Apply button to start syncing photos from your Mac to your iPhone.

Oct 24, 2014 2:24 AM in response to mahausby selenafromshenzhen,Hi, there are several options for you to transfer photos from your Mac to iPhone:
1. Use iTunes to sync photos from Mac to iPhone. It's pretty simple: connect your iPhone with your Mac via the USB cable > launch iTunes > click your iPhone > click the Photos tab on iTunes > check 'Sync Photos from' > locate photos on your iMac and click 'Apply' to confirm the action. For more details, view iTunes: Syncing photos
2. Use Photo Stream to sync photos from Mac to iPhone if you've enabled iCloud. Turn on Photo Stream on iPhone (Settings >iCloud > Photos > enable 'My Photo Stream' and 'Photo Sharing'. ); Set up Photo Stream on Mac (Click Apple logo on the very top left > System Preferences > iCloud > Photos > click Photos options to enable My Photo Stream). Any new photos you import to iPhoto or Aperture automatically upload when you connect to Wi-Fi. Or you can change your iPhoto or Aperture preferences so that only photos you manually add to My Photo Stream upload. For detailed information, check My Photo Stream FAQ
3. Use cloud service to sync photos, like Dropbox. Install Dropbox both on your iPhone and iMac. Log in with your account. Drag and drop photos to Dropbox on Mac. When you connect your iPhone with Wi-Fi, launch Dropbox and click Sync, then photos on your iMac will be synced to the dropbox on your iPhone.
