There are several ways to fix this.

    1.https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4133

    2. delete ~/Library/Cookies/com.apple.appstore.plist

3.One way is to backup all your data, hold cmd r when booting, hit reinstall osx.

4.One way is to backup all your data, hold cmd r when booting, go disk utiltity and format your drive and install a fresh copy. and then install mavericks on top of that.

Just an FIY, my first post are not steps, they are different ways of fixing the problem.

    I.E.

Try #1. ->>Didnt work. Then Try #2. --> if that doesnt contact this post again. I will try to help you as much as I can before the need to reformat is considered.

    try this

    1. Quit the App Store, and then open the "Finder".
    2. On the "Finder" menu, click the "Go" to "Go to Folder".
    3. Type the "~/Library/Cookies" to open the "Cookies" folder.
    4. Delete the "com.apple.appstore.plist" file.
    5. Run the App Store again. If the error still exists, go to step 6.
    6. Type the "~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore" to open the "App Store" folder.
    7. Delete the "Cache.db" file.
    8. Relaunch the App Store, and then update the apps again.
