    Do you have a scanner?

    Is it supported?

Do you have scanner software installed?

Have you installed the device in Printers & Scanners preferences?

Have you opened Image Capture in your Applications folder?

To scan a document, open System Preferences > Print & Scan, and choose the printer. Then, go to Scan and press the button to open the scanner app. Make sure the scanner is turned on.

If you have a wifi printer/scanner set up on the MBP, you may be able to do everything from the scanner itself.

With my Kodak printer&scanner, I just put the document on the scanner, pick scan from the LCD menu display, and send the file to my MBP over wifi.  This requires Kodak's software be installed on the MBP.

It depends on the printer or scanner. I have got a HP Photosmart printer that doesn't allow you to scan a document and send it to your Mac just through its LCD display. You have to do it through System Preferences

I just bought Mcbook Pro and printer is HP photosmart D110 (wifi printer), I can print but not scan.

I went into system setting and clicked on 'SCAN' and opened printer.

It prompted to install software so I followed the steps.

Now, it scans fine but I don't know how to save the document.

Am I supposed to see 'save' button or menu option?????

Also color or photo print is awful...  I printed from iPhoto.

Does anybody have any suggestion?  Thx!
