I'm runnung Itunes 11.1.2 on Windows Vista and syncing with an iPod, iPad, and iPhone.  Each time I start iTunes its like it was the first time - agree to the licence agreement, watch the video, but worst of all, it deletes all Genius data and turns off iTunes Match.  I then have to login in to the iTunes Store and turm Match and Genius back on and wait while it re-adds the same computer each and every time. With 720 albums and over 9000 songs this can take awhile.

McAfee AntiVirus by any chance? See the thread Why does iTunes delete my itunesprefs.xml?

Hmm, add the preference file to MSE's exclusions and see if it helps.

What about excluding the folder where the file is stored, and/or the main iTunes folder...?

Create new user account on your computer and when login you may (if you lucky) to see the prompt from antivirus that you have had before MSE. Once you know what it was (if you lucky) go to their site and download clean up tool. Run it and see if that helps.

When you run itunes diagnostics - do you think you can paste it here, I just can't believe that MSE is actually the problem. And if it is I d like to know.

Did you consider uninstalling MSE and checking. Will give precise idea if that is the reason. You right about diagnostics.

    What do you think, tt?

You could try temporarily disabling the real time AV scanner when starting up or shutting down iTunes to see if that can confirm that the AV is part of the problem. It could, after all, be a different issue with similar symptoms.
