Q: Info tab does not show in iTunes 11.1.2 in iPad sync window

I have OS 10.9 on my iMac, iOS 7.0.3 on my iPad, and I'm using iTunes 11.1.2 . I had only one problem syncing my iPad with the iTunes--the info tab does not show in the sync window. Has the method of syncing calendars changed? How can I do this

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

scannh23, " Good luck!  It's starting to look a lot like Microsoft Windows in Appleland." Sad but I was thinking same thing. Hope this is not the future. Better to charge me for dam thing and getit right than give me junk for free. Like microft days already using work arounf to scan documents since my scanner saving process no longer works. Been what coupkle hours now and server message still up. Tried a force quit alone no dice, when restarted just went right back to server message. Will try your fix now.

It took me awhile to get it organized but it did work smoothly once I did.

Go to phone and turn in cloud for the items you wanted. For me, contacts and calendar only.

Go to iTunes and choose cloud on summary page.

Go to address book app and organize the contacts, merge duplicates etc.

I did not need to make updates to calendar but you could in the calendar app.

Sign into iCloud, make any additional changes and they changes push everywhere.

For me, I removed any hint if sign ons, login names, password hints etc from contacts, since now in the cloud. But by the end if it, everything is in sync, cleaned up and fingers crossed it stats that way.

Yes, that's what I ran into as well.  I found a post where someone fixed that problem by force quitting Calendar, then deselect Calendar and Reminder synch to iCloud, then go back into Calendar and add a new calendar selecting the iCloud.  That fixes the calendar after a few minutes.  Then go into Reminders and add new reminders and select iCloud.  That seems to resolve the server sync error.  Good luck!  It's starting to look a lot like Microsoft Windows in Appleland.

This did STOP the immediate craziness! However still trying to get calendar function somewhat normally. Bottom line calendar is now controlled by Apple somewhere on the magic cloud of poof. HATE IT!!!!

AND I seem to be back to using a MOUSE again since my desktop track pad apparently now has a life of it's own on Maverick. That would be  ( not so small ) problem number 3.

The first time they promoted CLOUD I used it. All went well for about 2 days and then stuff started appearing and disappearing at random. That time I could decide to manually update via Itunes and returned to that. This time my choice has been taken away. Hope yours keeps working well and that the magic cloud controls it well for you. Me I like to control me own files and calendars and I also am not fond of putting what can be sensitive material on someone elses server.

You can control the calendar from the calendar app and it will update the cloud if you prefer. You shouldn't have to go to iCloud at all.

    Neech,

But if I don't update the Cloud then I don't update my, ipad, Itouch etc. In the morning I would, via Itunes and my home wireless network sync all my devices calendars for the day. I can no longer do that, the I must rely on the Cloud to have maintained sync on all my devices. YES? I am correct?

If you leave the phone and iTunes set to cloud, and then modify content in the apps on the computer, they will automatically sync to the cloud and push to other devices.  I believe. I modified contacts in the app and in the cloud and the changes took place in the opposing area. That said I don't sync other devices. But logic holds that they would also update.

    Good luck.

I know iCloud is good but I DO NOT want to use iCloud to manage my Contacts. Pls bring back the "Info" tab in iTunes and do not force your customers to use iCloud. This is not something that we want!!! Thanks.

For me iCloud is a security issue: for security and privacy reasons I don't want that my contacts + calendars entries are anywhere on a server with Apple or anywhere else in the world... For this reason I had all data on my iPhone, iPad, 1 windows PC and 2 macs - no sync problems with iTunes till the update of iTunes.

I tried the iCloud for the calendar (tried... Apple left no choice!!!) but duplicate entries, the outlook entries where lost... I don't mention the expensive data roaming costs in Europe.

My current status: I installed the BusyCal.app (xx $$ !!) which works still with iCloud but now all my sync problems are gone.

Why Apple forces its users to accept the Apple world - and to accept the possibilty to choice any cloud (e.g. a domestic Cloud which is under control of the local government - this means that gmail is neither a solution).

Please Apple: have I look at the needs of your users.

Should the European Commission not have a look at the Apple's strategy,

Since Apple does not want us to use Address Book, can anyone recommend an alternative program that will synch with an iPhone, can I do it using my Google account?

What is up with Apple and this Orwellian nonsense?  Jobs must be rolling over in his grave.

What is REAL sad now is you can now manually sync your Samsung S4 easier than your 5S on your Mac.  Wake up Apple!!!

I have previously tried using iCloud to sync my calenders, but found it unreliable. Events entered on my iPhone would never appear on my iMac, and vice versa, and there seemed to be no way to force it to synchronize. So, I am still hooked on the hard-wired or WiFi connection, less for security than for the (at least for now) ability to force the devices to synchronize.

We have had so, so many difficulties since upgrading our iMac from 10.6 to 10.9 two days ago. This is just the latest reason why I will be erasing the hard drive and re-installing OS X 10.6 this weekend.

I totally agree with the statement about Adobe as well. Apple and Adobe are both trying to force you to their own cloud system. They do not, will not let you use your own cloud, your own network etc they know how to manage your data better than you do.

So I am stopping all purchases of future apple products until my data is totally under my control. Meaning I can back up and sync up via my computer, my network as I see fit. This is totally unacceptable. IOS 7 is unacceptable. Maverick is unacceptable. Apple, you were great but maybe youve out lived your usefullness.

Adobe did one other thing that I am just waiting to see if apple does it too. As time went one prices dropped before coming out with the new upgrades. CS5 was dropping and then CS6 came out. Rather than starting off at the going rate for CS6 they increased the price for the box set and lowered the cloud version price. Forcing you to go cloud. Ive kept my CS4 and I am looking for alternatives that respect my privacy and security.

APPLE PLEASE DO THE SAME, RESPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS PRIVACY!!!!!
