Q: Trust this Computer?

I installed iOS 7 this morning, and now with every restart of my iPad - if it is plugged into my iMac - I am asked "Trust This Computer?" I restarted 3 times, and was asked each time. Is this something that we will see every time we sync our tablets and phones?

    Having the same exact issue myself. There are so many bugs in ios7 its ridiculous.

    iPhone 4s

    iOS 7

     

    Intermitently asks me to trust the SAME exact computer Ive plugged it into for over a year.

    Doesnt matter how many times I tap TRUST.

     

    Really hope apple addresses the slew of bugs and performance issues with the older phones that could upgrade to ios7. Its ridiculous that we were even allowed to upgrade the 4 and 4s if there are so many performance issues with the older hardware.

    this just happened to me, after i installed iOS 7. I constantly connect my phone on my computer and everything works fine, then until last week while connecting i get this prompt asking if i trust this computer, i trusted it cause it's mine, but then after a few seconds boom it shows the prompt again and again and again every after few seconds i choose trust. I tired of this sh**. What will i do? :/ i need my phone to connect on my computer. Huhuhu

    Thank you turbon2o. Your advice about using device manager, then providing the path to update the drivers solved a similar issue I was having with "trust this computer" and my ipad not showing in itunes, having updated to ios 7 and itunes 11.1 under windows 8. 

     

    Issue resolved for me.

    Lifesaver! Thank you for this! - Wont work if you choose search for driver.  Must do it manually.

    I am having the same problem, but I think that I understand what is happening and hope to fix it soon.

    I guess this "trust" message is the solution from a bug that somebody found that via a fake charger hack into the phone as in the end it is the same cable used for data.

    I looked in my windows 7 and as I don't have iTunes installed the device driver installed is a generic from Microsoft from 2006!!! So I suppose the phone is not able to recognize the computer and it always ask as it doesn't can get som identification and thus ask everytime to trust it.

    According to this http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 whit Itunes it should come the right device driver and then the phone can recognize the computer. I am going to try to find the driver separate to see if it solves the problem, otherwise I will install iTunes even if I don't want it and make sure the right device driver is loaded .

    I still get this message to trust or not to trust almost each time I plug my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.3. I hit trust, but it doesn't seem to remember it. HELP!!!

    Turbon2o had a solution for me. Try that. (Page 2 or so) or click what I responded to earlier.  I also reset all settings on my ipad before doing this.

    I have too many wifi passwords I don't want to lose, also it doesn't happen every day, I guess I'll just live with it, too bad iOS 7 couldn't get stuff right!

    Well glad your approach solved the problem, but what about for people like me who use Ubuntu? iTunes is not supported on Ubuntu. So what should I do?

    Oh, I forgot to mention, Linux has support for syncing to iDevices, but I can't sync to my iPad if I can't mount it in the first place.

    I tried all the solutions given in all the forums, none worked out.

     

    Finally, I had a chat with apple customer care executive, and I was provided with a solution that worked.

     

    Steps:

    1. Uninstall all apple related software (Itunes, Apple mobile support, Quicktime, Bonjour, Apple software update etc.).

    2. Restart pc

    3. Download new itunes and install.

     

     

    This worked perfectly for me.

     

    The possible problems which could have caused the issues were:

    1. Some bad patches in iTunes software (which was my issue finally)

    2. Software update using wifi (instead of iTunes). (

     

    (The executive advised me to always update through iTunes instead of wifi to avoid any possible glitches in the future)

     

    I hope this should work for someone

    I had a similar issue with both my Iphone 5 and my Ipad 2nd gen when I updated to itunes 11.1. I had to update the drivers for both of by devices. I am running windows 8 as well. I had to go into my device manager in the control panel and then search for my devices. They werent showing up as Apple Mobile Devices. I found them in portable devices. I then right clicked and said update drivers. I then told it I wanted to search for the driver my self and then told it I had a disk and went to this file path C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. I found the correct driver for both devices in there. Updated and now all is working.

    This was the driver file name. usbaapl64

    This resolved the issue for me, and I am using W7 instead of W8.
