Now the iPad mini with Retina display has been announced, I'm a little uncertain as to whether the upgrade (from the first iPad mini) is needed.

I currently use my iPad mini with a variety of apps and games. Safari, Mail, Pages, iPhoto, Facebook, YouTube, Netflix, Skype Real Racing 3, Infinite Flight, Storm Raiders, Infinity Blade series, etc. The games I play are often high-end games. But will performance between the two really be that much? If the iPad mini can handle all of these apps... what can the iPad mini with Retina display do that is better? A game can only perform and run so fast!

Is there something I'm missing that the new iPad mini can do better than the previous model?

I also have the original Mini and plan on doing the upgrade. There is also the fact that the new model has the newer processor, which is supposedly 4x faster for processing and 8x faster for handling graphics. And even if some of the older apps won't notice it, I am sure the new and forthcoming ones will.

If it was just the Retina display, I am not sure I would upgrade - but with that AND the newer processor I plan on it.

Yeah, I'm just really hoping developers will create more processor-intensive games in order to actually to put the A7 chip to good use.

Which games do you play on your iPad mini?
