Q: windows move to top left corner after sleep - anyone else see this?
I have my mini set up so that I have to enter a password after 15 minutes inactivity. Usually this works OK but not always.
Sometimes after sleep the display turns on again but it's black. The mouse cursor is visible and I am able to enter password to unlock even though I cannot see a prompt.
Much worse are times when all the windows move to the top left corner of the display and cannot be dragged back. The only way to get them back is to kill all the apps and restart them.
A couple of things that may be relevant:
1.I use Spaces. The problem occurs in all spaces.
2.I have Stay installed. However I at first suspected that might be the problem. I've since found that it happens even when Stay is not running. (In fact Stay is able to reposition the windows for me).
Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9), late 2012, HDMI, fusion drive

Another similar thread came up with a workround that worked for me and most others who have reported back.
The problem seems to be related to HDMI-HDMI connections from late 2012 mac minis.
Some people have used the DVI adapter to avoid HDMI-HDMI. My monitor only has HDMI and VGA so I'm presently using mini display port to VGA (since I already had an adapter).
This has been good for a few days.
I would nevertheless like a proper solution!
