Sep 12, 2013 6:28 PM in response to Bartlett3000by wowmel,★HelpfulI used my printer fine yesterday, then today had the same issue. I replace my empty yellow ink, no luck. So I turn my wifi off on my macbook pro, then turns it on again and the issue went away I was able to print again.
Hopefully this might help someone.

Sep 16, 2013 1:18 AM in response to Bartlett3000by nachtflug,Hi!
I can report a positive experience with the Canon Support Team in Europe.
Initially I got the standard advice from them to update all printer-related software. Yet, that did not solve the problem. Then I was told to swithc off the WLAN function both with the router and the computer, delete the settings with the printer and set up the connection freshly. (Actually, a similar, though more extended procedure than that from wowmel a few days earlier). To my big surprise this worked fine. (No replacement of ink tanks or the like).

Nov 3, 2013 3:49 PM in response to TBannorby 0ignorance,TBannor you are terrific. I am an ignoramus (68 yr computer illiterate) & I could follow your instructions & fix this bane of my printing existence.. Thank you, thank you. For awhile if I turned the printer off & back on I could get one print job done until just recently when I was about to spend $$$ on new printer, but found my savior first...

Nov 7, 2013 8:22 AM in response to Bartlett3000by Tweetmedic,I just purchased the Canon MX922 - love it, but started getting this code 2 days after installing. I called the Canon support and they informed me it is a code for MAC - not canon. I have done all the above mentioned suggestions - new ink so not that, deleted and added printer, turned off and turn on everything - still having issue. My Mac is 10.9 OS - does anyone else have an idea what I can do? Really want to be able to use the wifi and not have to go back to the USB.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Nov 7, 2013 2:47 PM in response to Tweetmedicby Paul Reddin, don't know if this has solved my problem permanently(but seems to have solved it for now for a couple of days) - I went into my router config. and clicked for it to assign the same(static) ip address to the printer everytime it connects. time will tell if this has helped ....

Nov 15, 2013 10:04 AM in response to Bartlett3000by djuang1,I was experiencing the same problem with my Canon MG6220. The issue started showing up this week after an update which I couldn't pinpoint. The possibilities were that the Canon printer updated it's firmware to 3.2.0 by itself or Apple updated the Canon driver to 10.72.1.0. Anyways, I was able to resolve this issue as mentioned in this thread by removing the Canon printer from my list of available printers and re-adding it. I haven't seen any issues since.

Nov 16, 2013 8:43 AM in response to Bartlett3000by LaurieNY,I started getting this today... and I remembered I had changed my wi-fi network name and password since I last used the printer.
So I had to re-establish the network connection. To do this, I connected the printer to my MacBook Pro with a USB cable. I then opened the Canon IJ Network Tool on my laptop, chose "Setup" from the drop-down at the upper left, and followed the instructions. It renewed the handshake with the new network information, then I turned the printer off and disconnected the cable. All was well after that.
Obviously this will not apply to everyone, but it may apply to someone, so I figured I'd post.

Nov 27, 2013 8:27 AM in response to Bartlett3000by twinkieslash,I too had an issue with this. I followed someones advice to go into system preferences and lood under the computer setting. found out that i had my printer in there twice. Confused me. But i just had to chance the defult setting. My 1 1/2 year old likes to hit tons of buttons and he may have had something to do with it. But it fixed my problem

Dec 6, 2013 7:34 PM in response to TBannorby virtualtm,I was so happy to find this solution, however when I deleted the printer and tried to reinstall it, I got a message stating: "The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer’s manufacturer for the latest software."
I went to the Canon site to try to download the driver but seemed to find only .exe files for Windows. ARRGH!
It's Friday night, I've had it, and Canon has no customer service over the weekend (if it ever does), so I'm signing off. Would love to see if someone can send me a link. Using OSX Lion (10.7.5).
Thanks!

Dec 16, 2013 12:56 PM in response to Bartlett3000by gbohmfalk,This has driven me nearly insane! I tried all of the above suggestions, with similar temporary success. Then, it hit me that, since the last time I printed, we had a brief power outage. I unplugged & restarted the router, and it was like God shined down on me. Suddenly everything prints fine. May not next time, but this may have been the magic key.

Dec 26, 2013 7:45 AM in response to Bartlett3000by ellis28,I've been having the same problem with a Canon MP495. It just started happening recently. If I turn the printer off and back on, it works. But I have to do that every time I print.
