Nov 4, 2013 7:03 AM in response to phybszby sjordi,Same for me. Very upset to say the least.
I need ALL my iPad books into Maverick iBooks. It's just common sense.
Manually adding all the ePub and PDF files to Maverick iBooks is one thing, but then how do you retreieve ALL the notes and highlights, bookmarks from the iPad on those same books in Maverick??? No way I will lose my notes.
Any idea or were the developers clueless?

Nov 5, 2013 3:28 AM in response to sjordiby phybsz, accidently found out how to sync the library:
drag and drop an ebook (that you haven't purchased in the ibooks store) from finder into iBooks on your Mac
open up iTunes and connect your iPhone or iPad - you should now see the "books" tab again next to apps, music etc...
in the "books" section, choose "sync books" and "all books"
press the sync button (lower right corner - don't know what its called in the english version) - your iBooks on the Mac should now be copied over to your idevice and vice versa. all the stuff that was on your iPad before should now also show up in iBooks on your Mac (including PDFs )
this will at least keep your library synced on all devices, I think this won't sync bookmarks and notes though
hope this helps a little bit

Nov 5, 2013 4:49 AM in response to phybszby sjordi,I can confirm,
just installed Maverick in a VM; launched iBooks on the Mac, and then manually added all the missing ePub files I had form other sources, mainly O'Reilly.
They appeared in iBooks mac and were in the correct categories, and notes, bookmarks and highlighted sections are present... That's good news.
They should add a mechanism to push books anyway.

Dec 2, 2013 3:52 PM in response to phybszby cbx4evr,The Syncing questions seems to be answered. I came here with the same question but in the end I didn;t want to sync between my Mac and iPad becasue I didn;t want all the stuff from my iPad on the Mac.
Anyway the "epub" files I did want to transfer to the iPad were adding simply by dragging them to the iTunes window when the iPad was connected.

Dec 4, 2013 6:53 AM in response to phybszby kues,To sync your non purchased epubs with ipad in Mavericks
Make sure the books you want to sync are in iBooks on Mavericks
Then Go to File in iBooks and click Move from iTunes
I know it sounds the opposite but this will sync with iTunes so that your ibooks show up in iTunes for syncing.

Dec 27, 2013 3:07 AM in response to dragonfeyby imshook,Hello, does anybody know how can I move the books from my iPad to my new Mac without losing them because that's what syncing will do to the books in my iPad.
