How is it connected to the Mac, USB, Wi-Fi etc...? Without knowing some basics it's tough to help you. Also are you still using 10.7.5?

I can connect it either way, but would like it to be available to my ipads and guests computers wirelessly.  Whatever works.  I am running 10.7.5 is this not good?

You must download with the disk provided snf then go to HP's Web Site and make sure you have the latest Drivers Downloaded and restart the computer for all to work as they should. One last thing you must download the latest system updates at least onnce a week.

I don't know anythign about the iPad,  you should ask on that forum for printing. If your turn on printer sharing then the printer shoudl be available to guests that log onto your network. Of course they will have to install the printer onto their own computers so the computer knows a printer is attached.

I disagree with Donald about using HPs software. In most situations simply use the instructions Apple provides in Wireless Printer Install
