OS 10.7.5   IPhoto 9.4.3 -Sony Micro Adapter -Samsung cell phone/

When first installed worked fine importing photos from phone to IPhoto. Now, only get message "unreadable files" and "unrecognized format." Has occurred also with new Sandisk. Any ideas??? Thanks

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

    As a Test:

Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'

Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

    Post back with the result.

Do you have iPhoto delete the photos from the cards when you used them? Are you able to reformat the cards using the phone? If you can do so, take some pics and try again.

Is the card remoable from the phone?  If so try using a card reader to access the photo via the Finder. Upload them to a folder on the Desktop and see if you can open them with Preview.

One you have the files off of the card you can reformat the card to FAT with Disk Utility. Then put back in phone, take some more photos and see if iPhoto will recoginize them.

Reformat the card to MS-DOS (FAT). Take some test shots and try again.

You can give this a try on the existing problem files:  download Convert to JPG and Embed sRGB profile from Toad's Cellar, unzip and drop a copy of some of the image files onto it. Once done see if the converted files can be imported into iPhoto.

It's a workaround but may be able to salvage the files until a solution is found.
