Q: Why does MacBook Loose Wi-Fi occasionally?

My wife's MacBook that was working fine in the same room on the Wi-Fi network from my Time Capsule now cuts out for a minute or two occasionally every day. I've had other glitches since installing OS 10.8.5 on both my iMac and MacBook and suspect this is another of them. I tried switching from the MacBook Network 5GHz to the MacBook Network 2.8 but it made no difference. Both are set on Automatic so it doesn't select a specific Wi-Fi channel if one of the neighbor's networks is interfering. Perhaps I can go in and change that; should I?

iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), Comcast broadband, TM
