Q: iCal events keep reverting to 'new event'

Go to Calendar>Preferences...>Accounts>and experiment with changing the "Refresh Calendars:" interval.

I surmise that your connectivity may be erratic.

Try using the 1 min...or longer interval instead of "Push."

I never had this problem before I changed to mavericks

I even did not show up for a meeting because my calender did not show this meeting anymore.

some events just vanish and leave a "new event" only

I changed from push to 5 minutes update already, but this did not help

My connectivity seems to be OK as far as I can see.

I have a hint:

console messages say

and for another lost Event

so something with eTag (I don't know what that is) seems to be important

When I encounter this problem, including the "eTag" error message in Console, a quit of the process "CalendarAgent" solves the problem for a while.

Doesn't work for me. Anyone else find out what's going on?

I had this problem today, but only when I used the "&" symbol in the calendar entry. When I changed "&" to "and" there was no problem.

I moved it to refresh every 30 minutes and still have the problem.

Thanks for your help. I'm running Yosemite, and I found that edits to events were reverting to the original when I closed the event window, but sporadically without any particular pattern. As you suggested, I used refresh and selected the option to open events in a separate window, which they already were. I then noticed that when I made an edit that the "apply" button appeared, which I now click after every edit, but this button did no always appear previously. My guess is that Apple's brilliant engineers are not using the products they design. Thanks again!

Any other news on this?  I've tried changing the refresh time and it does nothing.  I have a very solid wi-fi internet connection and never had this issue until upgrading to Mavericks.  This is ridiculous and truly annoying.
