Are you running any anti virus app?

Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

    Not running antivirus app.

In Console found something like this:

    1/1/70 1:31:28 AM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[479]) PID 285 "lssave" has no account to back it! Real/effective/saved UIDs: 501/501/501

    1/1/70 1:31:28 AM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[479]) Exited with exit code: 1

    1/1/70 1:31:28 AM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.launchd.peruser.501) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds

    or like this:

1/1/70 1:04:44 AM org.ntp.ntpd[146] Error : nodename nor servname provided, or not known

1/1/70 1:05:00 AM com.apple.launchd[1] (org.ntp.ntpd[146]) Stray process with PGID equal to this dead job: PID 150 PPID 1 ntpd

    Not understandable for me.

    Good going I think...

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...

Open System Preferences>Accounts, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

Does it work in the new account?

Then, does it now work in the old account if so?

Log out of the new account, then in the same pref pane you created it in, highlight the new account & click the tiny minus icon.

PD. I always keep an extra admin account for emergencies, doesn't take up much room.

    Ty BDAqua for help.

I already had two accounts and tried earlier to download from second account...

As mentioned, everything the same. Safari ignores action (click the active download button, or link), it loads link page, but stays on the same page.

    Wha to do?

Is there any page on the huge Apple site where I can ask for or solve this problem?
