    I miss coverflow.

...But more importantly, I used it (and the small album cover window in the left sidebar, which is also gone -_-) to check and see if any albums had missing artwork! I'd just scroll through the albums and if there was a music note, I'd know to fill in the cover. Now I have to manually click on each song, and it's a pain in the parts to do.

I miss Cover Flow too, but there is a partial solution that Apple added in one of the point updates to iTunes 11. In Songs View, go to View > Show View Options (command-J). Check the boxes to Show Artwork and Always Show. (Always Show means that even if you have an individual song rather than an album, the album artwork for it will be displayed.) With the slider, select an appropriate album cover size for your display's resolution and your taste.

Now you can scroll through your music colleciton and see the cover artwork (or lack thereof). No manual clicking of each song required. It's not a good replacement for Cover Flow, but it makes iTunes 11 more usable.

The latest version of iTunes 11.1.3 was released today, but another disappointment. No big changes to the way artwork is displayed and no return of Cover Flow. Sigh, Apple doesn't care.

Did you think there would be these changes (especially in a 11.x.x point update)?

Nope, but I was still disappointed and felt the need to vent a little. I don't really think it'll improve much when it goes to 11.2 either. I guess I have a small bit of hope left that better developers are put on the creation of iTunes 12.

Oh please. As many times as I've posted feedback I'm surprised I haven't been been slapped with a restraining order.

When and if Apple gives us a new version of Cover Flow, will it be snuck in with a point update, or will it be loudly trumpeted? Or both? When iMovie '08 replaced iMovie 6 HD, Apple slowly restored features with point updates, but then dramatically restored the app's usefullness with full upgrades. When Final Cut Pro X was released to universal howls of protest, Apple slowly restored features with point updates. And now with iWork '13, Apple just promised to restore features over the next six months.

I don't think Cover Flow per se will ever come back. Apple seemed to be firm about that when iTunes 11 was released last year. However, Apple added the ability to show cover art in the Songs View with the 11.0.4 release. I do think that the iTunes team is working on a view that will include some sort of ability to scroll through larger cover art, and that it will be trumpeted as something cool and insanely great.

So I continue to use the feedback form.

Well a glimmer of hope then!

It does beg the question on what factual basis do you think that?

I've got an idea for iTunes...

Make the mini player run vertically instead of horizontally so we can shove it out of the way to the left of the screen.

It doesn't "beg the question." It raises the question. One of my grammar pet peeves.

Thanks for the salutary correction but the question still remains unanswered! ;-)

The factual basis rests on my indisputable ability to remain in denial, forever hopeful that things will change in the future.

Seriously though, while Apple tends to err on the side of simplicity, sometimes mistaking "simple" for elegant and easy-to-use, it has a long history of eventually restoring features that were over-zealously purged.

I admit that I haven't gone through all 69 pages of posts, so I hope that I'm not going through something thats been discussed ad nauseum, but I'd like to throw in my 2 cents. I, too, am one of those people that uses a mac mini in my A/V set up, and I'd like to see some kind of full screen option. It wouldn't have to be cover flow per se, but something that can display on my TV, while i'm listening to music, that doesn't make it look like a computer desktop. On the first update after the omission of cover flow, they added the expanded album view, a nice looking view, with the album cover, a list of songs on the side on that album, and a changing background, based on the prevolent color on the album cover. But it's kind of useless if it only shows within the itunes window, when you select the album. If they could make this view full screen, and able to change with the song playing, that would be great. Please, just something more elegant than a box on desktop. For those hat don't care, by all means, the mini player is for you, select that view.
