I have created an album and began a Calendar project by using this album.  Can I add photos after I have started my Calendar project?  If so, how?

Just drag a photo to the calendar listing on the left hand pane.

    Couple of things:

Import a Raw to iphoto and it automatically creates a jpeg preview of it, and this gets used in projects, shared etc. So there's no need to do anything special when it comes to print projects. Just use the Photo.

Cropping a a little complex mainly because it can do a few things:

    - Change aspect ratio - convert between Portrait and Landscape

    - Perform crude chops to excise chunks of the photo

But when it comes to size it's best not to think of cropping. Again, in the calendar you can right click on the pic and place it in position with a variety of options. iPhoto doesn't care if the photo is 3 megapixel or 30 megapixel, as long as the dpi is about 150+ it won't care and neither should you.

If the photo gets cropped by the frame in the calendar Command (right) - click  on the photo and select Fit Photo to Frame Size:
