Q: MBP 15" late 2013 Camera issue

Hey, I just bought (couple days ago) MBP Retina 15" i7 2.3Ghz 512SSD GT750, clean install OSX 10.9. I totally forgot about my camera, but when i just try to use it - like launching iphoto - iphoto just loads camera view forever, and Camera LED is blinking. Corresponding to syslog:

Nov  9 11:00:24 MacBook-Pro-Rafal kernel[0]: AppleCamIn::power_off_hardware

Nov  9 11:00:24 MacBook-Pro-Rafal kernel[0]: AppleCamIn::power_on_hardware

Nov  9 11:00:25 MacBook-Pro-Rafal kernel[0]: ISPCPU: ERR: ./H4ISPCD/filters/IC/CImageCaptureH4.cpp, 780: FlowIC00: Frame done timeout! frameCount = -1.

So camera is restarting forever after timeout, without success. This issue occurues with every program i tried using camer Skype, Iphoto, Facetime, some camera application on web...

I reset the SMC, without luck...

Some one is experiencing the same issue? Maybe this is hardware issue? What to do?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

    Try opening PhotoBooth and see if the camera works in that. If it doesn't take your Mac back and get a refund. Apple has a 14 day No Questions Asked return policy from date of purchase for a full refund.

    Have you contacted the technical support of the camera manufacturer?

    Ciao.

    The Op is talking about the built in FaceTime camera.

    Really good, now i can comfortably work without external screen . I was using the 11" air model, now i am using 15", and thanks to retina display sometimes I event skip connecting to external display .

    Hi badray, I have the same issue with my mid-2013 MBA. It started only after I upgraded to 10.9, so maybe that narrows down the cause? Please post if you figure out the answer.

    I near future(2-3 weeks) I will have a holidays, and then I'll put my mbp into authorized service. I'm really sure that is a hardware issue, then i post here feedback what is it about.

    Have you tried booting into 'Safe mode' (hold shift after the chime until the spinning 'cog' appears). Ensure the login window says 'safe mode'.

    https://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455

    It will disable all third party extensions & startup items.

    If the camera works in safe mode it is time to get a system report and look at the third party software.

    Be aware that some features will be disabled like wifi on some models, graphics drivers will be in a reduced mode - this is normal in safe mode.

    Reboot to go back to normal.

    You can also try a new user account…

    Create a new user account in 'System Preferences > Users & groups', give it the name test. Login as that test user & see if it works better.

    YES     indicates the problem may be inside your user account

    NO       indicates the problem may be further up in the system or third party software

    Hey Drew, I'm a software developer, so my proffesion indicated that I've tried it. I did try booting into Safe mode, also switching to another account. At least I've tried booting into Windows in bootcamp, and in result, when i try to use camera (skype for example) Windows is freezed, and I have to do cold reset . So I'm quietly sure that is an hardware issue.
