Oct 29, 2013 2:16 PM in response to jforknerby Neo1111,I am also having the same issue. Hitting the advance button seems to work so far when it stops for music. I have not figured out how to get passed the commercials when they stop. I know Steve is rolling over down there over this failed product launch. So far I have not been impressed with iTunes Radio and will continue to use Pandora until Apple fixes these issues.

Oct 29, 2013 4:01 PM in response to Neo1111by jforkner,So far, the only thing that seems to restore the stream for me is to QUIT iTunes, then restart it and iRadio. WAPITA.

Oct 30, 2013 8:00 AM in response to jforknerby Michael Robertson1,Having the same issues. I have Match, so no ads, but in trying to play one of my stations, synced with airplay to my home stereo, which is connected to a airport express, radio would hang up after 5 or so songs, would hit for next song, would play a few more, then hang up again. Also would play songs that were not related to the station as far a song type. Will stick with Pandora.

Nov 1, 2013 6:51 AM in response to jforknerby jas_,Same issue here as well. Next track usually will fix the problem for a few songs, but then back to the same problem. Never have any issues with "radio" on my ipad.
FWIW, i have match as well, so no ads.
Between this and the all-too-often song repeats, i'm definitely missing my pandora one membership, but as others have said, aside from the bugs it's a pretty darn good effort out of the gate for apple.

That sounds like an oxymoron to me. Based on the response to this thread, it's clearly not my setup or configuration. There's something wrong with the process, and Apple should fix it.

Nov 1, 2013 7:11 AM in response to jforknerby jas_,Oh, don't get me wrong... Whatever is wrong is a certainly an error on Apple's side, and they absolutely need to fix it (and fast, lest loose users back to other streaming services).
I was just speaking comparitavely based on my experiences with the fledgling efforts of pandora and some other folks.
I'm actually quite concerned in general about Apple's software development process as of late. Mavericks feels like beta software it has so many bugs, and don't get me started on the new iWork programs...

Nov 1, 2013 7:21 AM in response to jas_by jforkner,Agree about Mavericks---that's why I haven't upgraded. I'll pickup a new iPad Air this morning. Will be interested how it does with iTunes Radio & IOS7.

Nov 6, 2013 1:42 PM in response to jforknerby dong9330,I was so hopeful when I downloaded 11.1.3 this morning but wasn't able to try it out until just a few minutes ago. Played a few songs from my stations. Good. Paused for the first ad and began playing music again. Good. Hit the second ad and immediately the station hung up again. Looks like it's back to internet radio or load my old CD shuffler again.

Nov 10, 2013 6:03 PM in response to jforknerby Tjalsma,I can't use it anymore — too frustrating. It's a shame because the sound quality is great and the playlist algorithm seems well designed. iTunes Radio is something I would even pay for it it worked properly! I'll be back.
-
Nov 10, 2013 6:18 PM in response to Tjalsmaby Neo1111,I totally disagree with the playlist algorithm. I think it absolutely *****. If I am listening to a particular artist as my playlist I do not want to listen to other artists at all. I have repeatedly selected for certain songs to not be played in hopes that the playlist would finetune itself but it just gets worse.
-
Nov 10, 2013 6:28 PM in response to Neo1111by Tjalsma,Apple is in the business of selling music, so we'll never be able to fine tune down to one artist, unfortunately!

Nov 10, 2013 11:31 PM in response to jforknerby Zenobius,This is annoying. I *just* decided to try iTunes Radio today... get 6-7 songs in, ad plays.. Radio dies.
But restarting your mac doesn't fix it, nor does restarting iTunes.
The station syncs the freeze with my iPad and iPhone, it's on Apple's end.

iTunes v 11.1.3
Pretty much the same as everyone else: iTunes radio seems to buffer endlessly after an ad. I can usually get about an hour into the radio before it happens. Very annoying, as if the ads weren’t annoying enough.
Found a solution: I stopped using it. I have my own library that contains mostly what they play anyway, but this way, I can avoid the advertising, too. I wouldn’t mind the ads if it worked.
Apple has already been sliding in popularity with my friends and family, and this certainly isn’t helping with Apple’s reputation for quality.
