If the app in question is a preinstalled app that came with the iPad then you can't delete those.

Nov 11, 2013 10:41 AM in response to Skydiver119by innaphog,Well...no. I actually new the proper maneuver. Trouble is, once things start wobbling, no amount of tapping on the app (or any other app) results in action (deletion). Further, I can't stop the wobblies by tapping the home button. It's as iff everything is stalled. To get rid of the wobblies I have to shut down the pad using the button on top of the device. What's going on??

Nov 11, 2013 11:30 AM in response to Skydiver119by innaphog,No restrictions on deleting apps...or anything else. Couple of things might be helpful: I recently did the last IOS update. Problems began shortly after that (but not immediately). I have a favorite game (Letterpress) which I'm having error problems with and, as of today, it won't even open. I want to delete it and reinstall to see if that will help. No can do. It also occurs to me that this may well be a Game Center problem since this app is linked to it.
Second thing. When I get everything wobbling on the screen, the circle with the "x" in it is white (pink actually, though this may be because my desktop background is red). I have a feeling this is important (the color of the circle) since when I have updates to do, the number is clearly in a red circle...not white/pink.
What do you think?

Nov 11, 2013 11:37 AM in response to Skydiver119by innaphog,Another thing: I just went to Game Center to see if there might be something I might do there...it won't open!
BTW, the white circle (supposed to be red) has a red (pink) "x" in the center.

Nov 11, 2013 12:08 PM in response to innaphogby AmishCake,★HelpfulHave you reset since the upgrade? Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.

Nov 29, 2013 5:17 PM in response to innaphogby Lockie555,I am having this problem on an iPad 2. I have tried all suggestions but nothing has worked. I cannot upgrade iOS because I do not have enough memory and I cannot delete apps because of the bug in ios7.
What to do next?

Nov 29, 2013 5:44 PM in response to Lockie555by Skydiver119,Do you normally sync to iTunes on a computer? if so do your update via iTunes. Then your computer handles the 'extra space' the iOS wants to expand after downloading.
I had 2 gig free on my iPad but was able to update to iOS7 using my computer
