Sad to see that I am not the only one with this issue.
-I have thought about reinstalling Mavericks (just like you, I would not have big problems since I have a back up) but I have not tried.
-I have thought reinstalling everything in my mac (reformat) but I am not feeling like doing it).
So I have no clue if that would fix the problem.
Problems I am facing so far are:
-Sometimes I am being asked to provide Keychain password when I start my computer (80% of the time).
-I cant have access to Icloud through my Mac.
- Safari sometimes asks me about the keychain password.
I may be able to live with this, but it is pathetic.
If you have any ideas please let me know.

I found a solution on another string I went to the library\user\ and moved my keychain folder to the trash. Then rebooted and everything seemed fine. Hope this works.

This is an easy fix. i called apple and they fixed it. Go to finder, then GO tab and click the option near command on keyboard and a link library will pop up in list and then click library, scroll to find keychain and put it on your desktop and restart computer. You only have to log in one time and then delete keychain off desktop. something happened w maverick and it corrupted the file.

I had this issue as well. I removed the alphanumeric folder in keychains, no avail. Reset my password in recovery partition, no avail. I went to "go" held the option key and clicked "library" and drug the keychains folder to the desk top. I restated the computer and voila! Good as new.
