Try a Safe Mode boot. That will delete some system caches that may help. A Safe Mode boot does not depend on an internet connection.
Startup your Mac in Safe Mode
A Safe Mode boot takes much longer than a normal boot so be patient.
Once you are in Safe Mode, click Restart from the Apple () menu.
Then try control click / copy paste.

Nov 12, 2013 8:50 PM in response to Carolyn Samitby el.jeffe58,I will try that when I get a break in the action, Carolyn. I have always used Onyx for cleaning this and that on my Macs without a hitch. I assume it does what you are mentioning. I will try your method shortly. Thank you.

Nov 13, 2013 4:27 AM in response to Carolyn Samitby el.jeffe58,I did what u said Carolyn. It is still a tad sluggish to no delay. I will not use Onyx again and may even reinstall the whole OS and get a fresh start. This lag drives me nutz! Thanks!

Try deleting the cache associated with Safari.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Nov 13, 2013 11:20 PM in response to Carolyn Samitby el.jeffe58,I did what you stated Carolyn. Not the one. I think it is an extension, in particular, DuckDuckGo. I have been rebelling against Google of late, and installed the DDG ext and it is awesome, but may be the culprit here. More later. In fact, as seen in the screenshot, DDG does add to the contectual menu.
