Oct 22, 2013 11:47 AM in response to Josh Bloomby Justin Haddad,I have this problem too. It is very annoying. For me it happens for Reminders and iCal alerts. I keep hitting Close, they keep coming back. Even worse, many of them show up more than once at the same time. I have a waterfall of reminders/alerts poup every 10 minutes or so at times. Very close to ditching Mac apps and using Outlook for mail/reminders(tasks)/calendar/contacts.

Nov 12, 2013 12:48 PM in response to Josh Bloomby Eric Root,Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Dec 28, 2013 9:25 PM in response to Josh Bloomby SamJBB,I'm having this same issue and it's driving me nuts. Constantly closing reminder pop ups, the same ones 10 or 15 times a day. It happens on my MacAir and my iMac, both on OS Mavericks.

Feb 27, 2014 10:41 AM in response to Josh Bloomby frog22,I have a theory. Ok, so, the new notification center allows you to control what sends those notifications....None, Banners, etc......Well, if you're using ical & mail programs, syncing to a secondary calender system (such as gmail), you could be receiving many additional reminders. I've been getting reminders like crazy.....
So, I went into the notificaitons center, went to mail, turned off the notifications, and now I'm not getting a million reminders. Hope this helps.

May 24, 2015 1:08 PM in response to Josh Bloomby ntsaou,I finally fixed this problem by:
1) Quitting the calendar app
2) Moving everything found in
~/Library/Calendars/
to the trash (you might as well back-them-up before deleting)
3) Restarting the computer
4) Clearing the trash
5) Setting up again my calendar accounts
Hope this helps.
Nikos
