I am running OS 10.6.8 on a 2.66GHz Dual core Intel Xeon.

One or two patches ago, I was able to download any file that went thru my servers. Since an update, anything over 4 MB freezes all my mail. To fix it so far, I go onto my server and delete the mails with larg files. Then Mac Mail works. The problem with this fix is I lose the email on my computer.

I also have a laptop that has the same configuration, but it has no problems downloading any size email. The same email account is downloaded on 3 different PCs and a Mac running 10.4 with no problems. And lastly, my email server allows up to 1 GB mails to go thru with 100 GB of space available, so that is not an issue.

How do I fix this problem?

Thank you all in advance.

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
