Nov 14, 2013 8:36 AM in response to randers4by jpscos,I have had the ability to add to my iPhone on previous versions of iTunes on my iMace and MacBook Pro. After upgrading to Mavericks and later software versions of iTunes (both Mac and iPhone) moving music (mp3) from the Mac to iPhone has not worked for all songs/albums. The music was from a downloaded mp3 file and added to iTunes on the iMac from "add to library."
I tried to go through iCloud Match after multiple attempts not being successful. The "cloud" with the line through it says that it could not be uploaded for Match.

Sep 1, 2014 8:48 AM in response to jpscosby Christiancory1,I, too, am annoyed by the inability to add music manually to a device without first disabling iTunes Match.
This is indeed a step back; it seems like something that would be extremely easy to fix. I usually just add the song to itunes match and then download the song to my library later by clicking the cloud icon next to the song once I see it in my device's music list.
It wouldn't be hard just to allow users to drag and drop songs into the device the same way we've been doing for as long as i can remember. It shouldn't matter whether we have Match enabled or not.
(And as for your problem with the songs that have the cloud icon with a slash through them.. simply highlight, right click and select "Create AAC Version." This will make the mp3's a higher bitrate so that you can add them to iCloud.)
