i have already set it up, but skipped the part where you register it.. how do you do it?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities

Go to http://supportprofile.apple.com, log in with your Apple ID, choose Add Product and type the MacBook Pro's serial number.

You can find the MacBook Pro's serial number in  > About this Mac > More Info. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1559
