I am a Middle School teacher. I have a very old iBook G4. I use it in my classroom because it still works better than the Dell junk the school has. I have it connected to an LCD projector. I use it to display my class website pages, keynote presentations, and DVD's.

The battery is just about gone, and its too old to buy a new one so I just keep it connected to the adapter. Every once in a while, usually when the power is interrupted, and I have to reset the clock, because the date is 1956, the Mail app starts up and starts sending reminders from 6 and 7 years ago. I figure out how to get it it to stop. It send 30+ reminder windows that pop up in front of whatever I'm trying to use.

Why does this happen? What can I do to "turn off" these very old reminders. I thought I could delete Mail and iCal, but if I do I get an error message that keeps cycling over and over until I take them out of the "trash?"

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

G4 iBook (2004), Mac OS X (10.5.8), 768mg RAM 1.3 Ghz Processor
