When hit shuffle on playlists or even all songs its skips over a lot of songs. The song count will go from 50 to 12 making it impossible to listen to an entire playlist on shuffle. Is there a way to fix this or do I have to live with this until the next bug fix?

If you mean that several songs are not played (as opposed to "it skips over a lot of songs") and that the list count before shuffle is 50, but when shuffle is turned on the list count is 12, then check the other 38 songs to see if they are set to Skip when shuffling.

    Highlight song, then right-click /Get Info/Options>Skip when shuffling>

iTunes will set each Podcast to Skip when shuffling as the Podcast is downloaded. So I suggest you triple check.

One important point to note: if you look at multiple items at once, you see a different tab displayed, and if there is a mixture of Skip/don't skip, then the option will mislead you and say that Skip when shuffling is off:

You will see this even if one item is set to Skip when shuffling, so the display above is wrong! Check each item separately, because I still think that is your problem. Why? Well...

There appears to be an inconsistency regarding the information you give.

In your first post, the song count goes from 50 (songs) to 12, and I tell you what to check for. You confirm one point, but then tell us that the Playlist has Podcasts in it. So I tell you what to check for. Now, the Playlist goes to 31 songs, from six albums, but you don't say how many songs are on the albums and therefore how many songs should be in the list. And the Podcast are no longer mentioned. So am I to assume this is several different Playlists, because it sounds as though it is?

Is the problem fixable? Well, not by me, apparently.
