I can't STAND Itunes. it's the worst peice of software Apple ever came up with. it's a kludgware. It make snbasic tasks annoyinig
So I've been mixing tracks by my band. I want to make a playlist of my bands tracks. I cna'tbecasue i cna't put them on Icloud, and I can't make a playlist that's not an icloud playlist. ==produced in LogicX, by the way.
Why am I even having to think about how to work around this irritating problem, simply so I can listne to a CD's worht of songs by my band?

You don't need to put tracks into iCloud to make a playlist.
and I can't make a playlist that's not an icloud playlist
So you cannot make ANY playlists at all?
how do I sync w/ icloud ??
my 32k music collection is in my hard drive
Itunes 10.7 is the best music manager for me. what can I do to sync my IOS 7 ipod touch?
I can't downgrade to IOS 6. which is stupid. Apple should give consumer a choice. Forcing its ways to consumers and make them abide their ways.

hello again, i need some help please...
i just wanted to clean up all my music in itunes and i checked an old backup of my itunes music folder i made in 2010 on an external harddisk, and if i compare it to the current library, it's much bigger... (on system level).
new library (itunes music folder 2013): 252 GB
old library (itunes music folder 2010): 386 GB
BUT - and this is really strange - the current itunes music folder contains many more items than the old one which is way bigger...
new library (2013): 3587 items (in the itunes program
old library (2010): 2557 items
- although i have bought many new songs since then, why are there less gigabytes in the folder?
- and why are there less items (subfolders) in the old library, although there are 130 GB more?
- how do i compare those two huge folders?
- how could i find out if there's music missing in the new folder compared to the old one from 2010?
- does itunes 11 store the music differently from itunes 10 - subfolders, compilation folders, album or artist folders?
- when i upgraded from itunes 10 to 11, did the program probably delete all the duplicate items?
any ideas out there?
i'm completely lost...
edit: ah, maybe you're interested what itunes 11 tells me about the music: 2681 artists, 2997 albums, and 17544 songs/186 GB
You don't update your backup regularly?
The discrepancy may be a factor of cluster size.
Compare the relative file & folder counts/sizes of the two media folders, not the main iTunes folders, as the Album Artwork folder is likely to be different between the two versions.
You can use SyncToy's preview feature, as described in this backup tip, to compare the two media folders to see which files would be added to which drive if you synced. That might reveal a pattern to the differences.
There have been no significant changes to the media folder layout since iTunes 9. Album Artwork has a new subfolder for Cloud Purchases.
iTunes won't have automatically removed any duplicates. If you have an iOS device and subscribe to podcasts iTunes 11.1 may have discarded lots of old episodes without asking depending on the options you chose during setup.
