If you done EVERYTHING in this post and has yet to solve the problem, THIS IS WHAT YOU DO. (Mac Users-Windows maybe)

    Connect your iPhone to Itunes

Go to the Itunes store on Itunes

    SIgn Out

On top of the STORE menu, is the LIBRARY menu

    in LIBRARY-Look for APPS

in APPs, switch the view to LIST

in LIST view, right click on the first APP and click GET INFO

on the right hand side, its going to say PURCHASE BY

if purchased by you, click NEXT in the summary box

Keep clicking until you see the app purchased by this "Other" apple ID

    Delete those apps

make a list of all apps you deleted

SIGN back on to the iTUNES store

    Redownload all the apps

Then in the APP menu in LIBRARY drag your newly download apps on to IPHONE

Iphone will then replace the apps when you click SYNC

    ~ Problem should be fixed.

Honestly, as long as the app is a free one, the easiest thing to do, is just delete it and redone load it

Sign out, then sign in with the new account--Genius !!

After trying all the other suggestions, this one was by far the easiest and best answer. Thank you, Chris !

Finally found a solution! Although you may not like it. After being on the phone with Apple for an hour and talking to about 7 different people, the final solution that we came to is that, since I downloaded apps using that account, it would always prompt me using that account, so I had to manually delete them and download them later with my correct account.

For some reason, it also systematically log off on other apps/accounts.

This has been extremely annoying. Retrying to log in and out should be the solution, yet nothing. I've just updated to 7.0.4, which has yet to resolve the issue.

As a long time android user and recently testing ios devices. This error is extremely annoying when testing mobile security on applications.

    To snodsFC1978,

This is info on Find my iPhone which may be on he iPad.   It must be on to work, after two months that is not likely.

Your password can't be different if the Apple ID (which is your email) is the same .  Your Apple ID and password are tied to your iTunes account, not the device.  If you changed your password, it is changed for all.  This has nothing to do with a passcode lock which you put on a device.

    To N.ajuot,

That is correct.   Please check before you delete an App.  If it's free, no problem.   But if you delete a paid App, you need the Apple ID and password to download the updated App for free.   In every case, on the computer or device, you must update an App with the Apple ID that was used to purchase the App.   This is true for re-downloading music also.

If you changed your email, you must change the information in your iTunes account.

    This worked perfectly!!

On your Mac/PC open iTunes (make sure it is updated). On the tabs on the left click on "iTunes Store". This will change the window on the right to the iTunes store. The top right corner should have your Apple ID or Sign In written. If there is an Apple ID written click on it and Sign Out. The corner should then change to "Sign In".

Now click on Sign In and sign in with the wrong/incorrect Apple ID that you no longer wish to use or update from.

Once logged in, click on the down arrow that shows when you move the pointer on the top right corner where it should now show the apple id, and select Account.

The page that opens up should have a section called "iTunes in the Cloud" with a tab on the side saying "Manage Devices".

Click on Manage Devices. Its should list your iPhone or iPad that you no longer wish to use with this Apple ID. And click Remove.

Once its confirmed click "Done" and from the top right corner select Sign Out.

I have tried all the suggestions in this thread (yes, including Chris CA's); nothing works except the option to delete apps and then re-download them. There should be a big warning sign in the 'change your appleID' page to warn you that this will happen. I changed ny ID because my old email address was due to be withdrawn; I had no choice. Everything else works with my new ID; but not updating existing apps.

Even for free apps, the time taken to re-download and then enter any setups is a real pain; for paid apps it's worse.  This whole scenario is appalling.

Where are you seeing an option to delete & redownload?

You changed your old AppleID to a new email address or you created a new AppleID?
