I am using OS X 10.5.8 and I'd like to be able to update it.  Most of my other apple devices are becoming incompatible with my itunes, etc. because of how old my operating system is.  I know you can buy newer OS versions online but my question is can I buy them and actually have them work on this Mac?  I love my Mac and would much rather spend $60 on three software updates than have to go out and get a newer computer.  TIA!

iMac (24-inch Early 2008), Mac OS X (10.5.8)
