Itunes crashes under windows 8.1

I had this issue. Try copying QTWinMovie.dll from c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support to c:\program files (x86)\iTunes. This solution fixed it for me and was easy! 🙂

i just bought a new pc and tried to install itune on it under windows 8.1. It even won't let me to install itune. the msg i got was some dll required for the installation. tried to redownload itune setup and and it still won't let me to install itune on my pc. any idea please?

I was having the same problem, though it happened when I upgraded from Win 8 to 8.1. The dll copy fixed it. 🙂

(FTR the windows machine was forced on me via work. I hate Windows. I hate windows 8.x more.)

It was happening to me, I did the trick and it stops crashing when I tried to access to the store, however it wont let me buy anything because an error... any idea of how to stop it?

The most successful fix is to copy the file ‘QTMovieWin.dll‘ from

• c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support\ to...
• c:\program files (x86)\iTunes.

That's it. Now iTunes should work correctly without any crashes.

This is not working for me. It still crashes. Is there another solution that anyone has tried and worked.
