Q: I can't do anything in iAd Producer 4.1

Hi there ,

I have download an iAd Producer 4.1 . and when I trying to make some widgets for iBook Author (or any choices) the work space is disapear and I cant add any objects to it , and there is an error massage shown when trying to go back to overview that says : " there is an unexpected error occured " and it was closed from itself .

I reinstall it again and again and same problem happened . and there is no older version of this app to try it.

sorry for my english but I'm tired from searching for a solution and there is nothing .

    Hi,

I have 4.1, but I'm not seeing what you've described; I have my canvas, and no error when I got back to the overview.

Do you see any logs in the console?

hmmm....  you mentioned that you reinstalled...  were there any error in the installation log?  Have you tried deleting iAd Producer.app first and reinstall again?

When you install iAd Producer, it should create an installation log.  I'm wondering something is not installing correctly.  But since you did a clean install, that's not a likely issue.  So my next guess is the project you're using.  Please file a new bug report and attach the project in question if any.  I'm sure Apple will be very interested to find out the cause of the problem.

The log is saying there is a permission problem. Try deleting the document folders:

    • Quit iAd Producer
    • Launch Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities)
    • Type the following into Terminal:
      • rm -rf /Users/majedsaud/Library/Containers/com.apple.iAdProducer
      • rm -rf /private/var/folders/w0/9r22h60j2sj8qd qzk0_j75x80000gn/T/com.apple.iAdProducer

If the "rm -rf" commands fail, try running them with sudo.

    MacBook-Pro-alkhas-b-Majed:~ majedsaud$ rm -rf /private/var/folders/w0/9r22h60j2sj8qd qzk0_j75x80000gn/T/com.apple.iAdProducer

    MacBook-Pro-alkhas-b-Majed:~ majedsaud$ sudo rm -rf /Users/majedsaud/Library/Containers/com.apple.iAdProducer

I think that no message/response after running the commands means that they were successful.

I'm not sure if this is any helpful...  but, after removing files from the Container, please make sure to restart or log out (and log back in) to clear out the cache.

in the requirement of iAd installation :

    • iBooks 3.1.1 or later .

I have iBooks 1.0.1 here and there is no update for it when I shearched .

Is that could be the reason ?

I maybe wrong but I think that's referring to the iBooks app on the device.  I also have 1.0.1 on my MacBook.

The path in the second of each of the commands has a space in the path name – between the "q" and the "d" – as a result of copy / paste from the web site. Try the command again after deleting the space.
