If it shows the time and data of the backup in parentheses next to the backup, then it was completed successfully. This article explains what is included in the iCloud backup: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12519.

If you're talking about your iCloud backup, you can go to the iCloud contol panel on your PC, tap Manage to the right of the iCloud storage usage bar, then in the window that opens, click Backups on the left hand side and your iCloud backups (if any) will be listed to the right. You can also see this by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage on your iPhone and you will see a list of your iCloud Backups.

Thank you, Randers4. When I clicked on the "backup" on the left of the "manage" screen, my iPhone was listed as being backed up. With no breakdown of specifically what is backed up from the phone, does this indicate all is well, nevertheless?
