I just read that post. I loved the Tattoo guy! Wish my tattoo artist had an iPad enclsure kiosk when I got my Tatto, would have saved me the trouble of looking through all those books I jent talked to them online and the sales rep was cool. There are lots of App Porviders to choose from, some seem to sell the hardware some dont. I found these guys who will sell or lease hardware that will work with many of the popular apps http://www.postablet.com/products/

POS Lavu have a good system; compatible with iPad and Airport devices, as well as Star printers connected to a cash drawer, all triggered from the iPad.  I have uinstalled the system in a few restaurants and it's a great piece of software but it doesn't do everything.  It does provide table layout plans, a full menu with pictures, inventory, etc. but it does not (since I last checked) have an account system.  You can export files as Excel spreadsheets or as csv files but otherwise, it's a great system.
