I've had an address (blahblah@me.com) since mobileme was around that's worked perfectly well. However, in recent months, I've been getting somebody else's incoming mail addressed to blahblah@icloud.com

Can anybody tell me;

1 how to stop the unwanted incoming mail coming to my computer

2 and let me know whether my mail from @me.com is also going to the inbox of this new @icloud.com?

I've only ever used the pre-installed Mail application.

    blahblah@me.com and blahblah@icloud.com are the same account. If you have a still-active me.com address, then you are registered with icloud. They are alternate names for the same account.

    Thanks Jeffrey. That's what I would have thought.

    However, since this problem started, I've been receiving lots of notifications from Pandora, Twitter and American sports sites that this new mailer has clearly registered with. They may have also gone to him @icloud.com in the correct way, but I was hoping there was a setting I could change that prevented them coming to me at @me.com.

    It isn't hard to build up a profile of the @icloud.com user.....a sports crazy Texan. As a European with totally different interests, it is clear that at least one of us - possibly both - are having our mail misdirected.

    Before anyone suggests contacting the other person, my fear is that I might lose my @me.com address. That's something I can't afford to do after all this time.

    Anyone?

    It sounds like someone possibly hijacked your e-mail address. Change your password yesterday.

    Thanks very much for that Eric.

    When I looked in Keychain, sure enough a Bletchley-strength password had replaced my own. I'd never realised that it was possible to reach in and do that.

    I've now replaced that with one of my own, so hopefully all the incoming will cease.

    You are welcome. I hope this works out for you.
