Nov 23, 2013 1:03 PM in response to Arkan_Swe_Utopiaby DebNParis,Registering the same problem. Mine looks like Lpavs. The first notice of something wrong came about a week after installing Mavericks. The problem is worsening as time passes.
I'm wishing I had seen Graham Cluley's article and followed his lead: http://grahamcluley.com/2013/10/mac-os-x-mavericks-free-install/. Too late!
Come on, Apple, this is getting more than merely annoying! Time to get this fixed!

Nov 23, 2013 1:19 PM in response to Arkan_Swe_Utopiaby ThreeD912,It looks like Apple's aware of the problem and is working on fixes related to "graphics drivers" in beta versions of 10.9.1...
I've been having issues with both the Mail app and these graphics glitches, so hopefully the next update will fix all of this.

Dec 12, 2013 8:27 AM in response to flick harrisonby academiasalad,SOLUTION V2
The switching off of automatic graphics switching did not work for me, the problem was very persistant today no matter what I did
THEN I REMEMBERD, last week the problem started just as I was about to give a presentation to a university faculty, I had no time to play so I jacked in the Mini AVI VGA adapter for the projector and hoped the projection would work even if my screen was glitchy
restarted the laptop the and the problem went away and stayed away for the next 6 days as I gave four more lectures.
Today it started again (my problems seem worse than most examples I have seen here, my whole screen goes out sometimes with blue vertical lines).
TODAY I jacked in my Mini AVI VGA adapter (projector not atatched) and its fine again. I took it out for a few hours then when I hooked up my iPhone, iPhoto launched, mid importing some photos it happned again, had to force restart, jacked in the Mini AVI VGA adapter and its fine agaian.
so I have a work around.
looking forward to an OS patch
I am using:
MacBook Pro
17-inch, Early 2011
Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
Serial Number C02G40S5DRJN
Software OS X 10.9 (13A603)

Dec 19, 2013 2:37 PM in response to academiasaladby jbrake,I think that this fix is likely doing the same thing as those who are using gfxCardStatus to change from the integrated to the discrete graphics card. It seems that for some reason toggling the graphics card in use helps to alleviate the issue.
I've been having the same issue as those have listed above. Seems to me that it must be a software bug and was hoping that Apple would have it fixed in 10.9.1 but I am still having the issues so it seems they didn't. Hopefully they are aware of it and working on pushing out a fix as it is a pretty annoying issue to have...

Dec 19, 2013 2:58 PM in response to jbrakeby academiasalad,UPDATE - following the 10.9.1 update my display port - VGA fix stopped working. Went to the genius bar today, they were sure in thier own minds that it must be a GPU problem not OS, but after running hardware stress tests they could not find any fault. They replaced the motherboard anyway (yes this was all handled within a few hours), lets see what happens.

Dec 19, 2013 3:59 PM in response to academiasaladby jbrake,Thanks for the update. That is about what I would have expected them to say at the genius bar. I also agree that it seems like an OS issue and not a GPU problem. Looking forward to hearing how the new motherboard impacts the glitches.

Dec 19, 2013 4:14 PM in response to academiasaladby academiasalad,P.S. when I restart there was a brief screen flash and large graphic aborations (big squares across the bottom of the screen) just as it was before the motherboard change.
and for the record : before the change of motherboard I had
Reinstalled OS 10.9
Restarted with command R repaired disk and repaird permissions - Results OK
Restarted with finger on D then performed hardware test. Results OK
Restarted with Shift alt command for a power managment reset
Restarted with alt command PR to reset the PRAM
Now I have a new motherboard and all seems OK except for those brief graphic aborations on startup,

Dec 20, 2013 10:20 AM in response to Arkan_Swe_Utopiaby Eric Stevens1,Just chiming in to say that I'm also still getting the graphic glitches after installing the 10.9.1 update. I was really hoping that the update would resolve this, but no luck.

Jan 3, 2014 1:23 PM in response to Arkan_Swe_Utopiaby ozmosis82,I was also experiencing these issues on my mid-2010 iMac. Graphical glitches all over the place and my computer would hang. Constant restarts.
Then I realized that I had decided to switch back to using Safari as my main browser (since it got an update with Mavericks and I wanted to play with iCloud Keychain) and that necessitated installing Flash which I had never installed when I was using Chrome.
I remembered this because I started detecting a trend as to when the glitches would appear--whenever I went to a site in Safari that had some sort of Flash element. So I uninstalled Flash.
That was 3 days ago. Zero problems since.
...Oh, and I switched back to using Chrome. (But at stuff working again.)
YMMV

Jan 3, 2014 5:37 PM in response to ozmosis82by husain.amri,I always used Safari, for me it was never related to what app I was running. I switched off Automatic graphics switching (System Prefrences > Energy Saver) and the glitches are gone. I think it has to do with the driver for Intel integrated graphics, as it is now always using nVidia GeForce GT 330M.
