Nov 23, 2013 4:06 PM in response to TurkyDby KiltedTim,★HelpfulIs the hands free device in discoverable (pairing) mode? If not, then the phone won't find it. Check the manual for the device you're trying to pair with.

Nov 23, 2013 4:42 PM in response to KiltedTimby TurkyD,★HelpfulIt's not the device, it is the iphone . The iPhone was told to forget the device. Now the iPhone refuses to find this device. It will find other devices. iPhone doesn't tell you it will forget this device forever, and no way to search for it again . I have searched all over the internet.. Have reset my phone .. Reset the network settings! Obviously Apple is aware a lot of people are having this problem , yet no solution!

Nov 23, 2013 4:46 PM in response to TurkyDby Lawrence Finch,★HelpfulOnce a device is forgotten it will never connect again until it is re-paired. You must put the device into pairing mode, as Tim said.

Nov 23, 2013 5:25 PM in response to TurkyDby Lawrence Finch,Disconnect will not unpair it. Forget this device will. It's best to turn off a BlueTooth device to disconnect it rather than leave it on and tap disconnect. Helps preserve the battery charge in the device also.
It's not that it is blocking it forever. Any BT device must be in Pairing mode to connect the first time. This is a security feature so your phone doesn't connect to every BT device that you walk past. If you have the phone Forget the device its as if it had never been paired. So the device must be again put into Pairing mode ("Disoverable" mode) to connect it again.

Mar 13, 2014 12:25 PM in response to TurkyDby Sync up,I had the exact same issue with my iPod. I kept thinking I needed to do something with my iPod to fix it, but the solution was to put my bluetooth speaker back into pairing mode. Although this was not in the speakers manual, I held down the power button and up volume button at the same time, and a green light started flashing. Suddenly the pairing option showed up on my iPod again.

Mar 17, 2014 8:51 PM in response to TurkyDby Pdd74,I also have this problem with my Honda my 13 CRV. I accidentally hit forget this device and it won't connect. I also hit 'delete all personal data" on Crv. My iPhone 5 is always in discoverable mode but won't come up with the crv's Bluetooth to pair with. I have reset all settings powered down, taken it to dealer all to no avail.

Mar 17, 2014 9:40 PM in response to Pdd74by Pdd74,Have just been with service manager, solved the problem by 'forgetting the device'. Apparently the car thought it was connected but the phone didn't , we forgot the device and then suddenly it was available for pairing again. Sooo happy with the Sunshine Coast Honda service manager. And so glad the Honda Bluetooth issues no longer exist for us anyway. Happy to help any others if they need.

Jul 12, 2014 7:43 AM in response to TurkyDby ReagansDad,This discussion helped me fix same problem. Let me put it succinctly. The phone does not forget, it tells your bluetooth device "forget about me and never try again". So the solution is to make your BT device try again. Put it into "pairing mode" and then you will see it on your phone again. You can Google for a phrase like "plantronics bluetooth pairing". That is how I found out how to get my device back into pairing mode. Usually something like "turn it on and hold down the call button until the LEDs flash and then you will see the request on your iPhone".

Feb 22, 2015 8:47 AM in response to Sync upby Kevin4235,I had the same problem with my iPad and used your suggestion. After hours of frustration in trying to pair my wireless keypad, I held the power button until it started flashing holding the button in while I watched it finally appear in the bluetooth box in settings. Famous words... " easy once you know the answer". Thanks for the lead to the power button.
