Q: I have a very large library on an external HD, where I want to keep it thank you. Why can I not do what I've done before, go to Preferences and then set location of my library?

Since updating to iTunes 11.1.1.3. I am unable to see my music library. If I select a track in Finder, that track is imported into iTunes but nothing else. I do not wish to take up the major percentage of my internal HD with media content so unless I'm missing something or there's an easy fix, I will have to try clementine and VLC. Any help or suggestions gratefully received.
