Q: Can't find com.apple.iPhoto.plist

Old Toad gave me directions for correcting a problem with a book I have created.  Using Maverics 10.9 I found the library and checked.  There is no line which  looks like

      com.apple.iPhoto.plist for me to delete

What am I doing wrong?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

It is located in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. If you don't see the Library folder in your Home folder, then:

    Exposing the /Home/Library/ Folder

Pick one of the following methods:

    A. This method will make the folder visible permanently. Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and paste the following at the command prompt:

    chflags nohidden ~/Library

    Press RETURN.

    B. Click on the Desktop, press the OPTION (⌥) button, select Library from the Finder's Go menu.

    C. Select Go To Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Paste the following in the path field:

    ~/Library

    Press the Go button.

If you've ever run iPhoto with your current setup there will be a preference file.  Download and use Find Any File  to search for "com.apple.iPhoto.plist".  FAF searches areas that Spotlight can't.  If there is such a file on your hard drive it will find it.

Note:  there will be a file by that name in each iPhoto library you have.  The one you want to delete is the on in the Library/Preferences folder.
