Nov 22, 2013 3:05 PM in response to kentendoby MrGman62,Fortunately I have a VGA adapter and cable so I am now able to work with my monitors using VGA. Unfortunately (for my son) the same monitors no longer work on his 13" Mid 2010 MBP using HDMI. They worked for ages but now have stopped and I only have 1 VGA adapter for Mac. So much for his gaming fun.
Still no response form Apple I see.

Nov 24, 2013 12:34 PM in response to kentendoby mcole1987,same story here. I am not sure, but I think I have used my display since I installed mavericks. I use my MBP with several different displays, so it's hard to keep track of. However today it is not working with my Vizio LCD. I am using a minidisplay to DVI, then a DVI to HDMI to connect to the display. This setup worked with my downstairs sony bravia just now so I know it's not the adaptor or the cord. I have also used the minidisplay to DVI, then DVI to DVI to use a lenovo display that also works as of now. So it's just the Vizio and MBP interaction that is not working. When I first connect, it says "Retrieving Data..." then a few seconds later just goes to the Blue Screen and says "No Signal". The display preferences on the MBP think the TV is connected, and you can even drag windows over as if the extended display is active (although obviously you can't see anything because the TV isn't working)
Apple please help!!

Nov 24, 2013 1:28 PM in response to MrGman62by Eric Root,Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
Or you can use your Apple ID to register with this site and go the Apple BugReporter. Supposedly you will get an answer if you submit feedback.

I will provide Feedback as you suggest.

Nov 30, 2013 4:25 AM in response to kentendoby daiquirikiss,I'm having the same issue as well. I own a 2008 MacBook. After updating from Mountain Lion to Mavericks, my HDMI no longer functions. The mac screen flickers, and the TV monitor gets no signal.

Dec 2, 2013 5:52 PM in response to daiquirikissby Coul5,I read about the various things everyone has tried re the thunderbolt to hdmi issues. I have a 2013 macbook pro with apple tv3 (which I'd rather not try to stream movies through) and up until Mavericks all was working great when I streamed through a hardwired connection. I spent a good part of the day working through various with tech support including reinstalling mavericks. I was finally bumped up to a senior advisor ovcer the phone today. Here is where we went. Plug your laptop into the power supply. Enable the hdmi port you are trying to use. Plug your thunderbolt to hdmi into the laptop. Go to system preferences, displays...and you should see a a button between display and color called arrangements. Hit that button. Look on the bottom towards left side. There should be a check box to enable mirroring. Seems to work fine now.

Dec 2, 2013 7:31 PM in response to kentendoby loosigoosi,Same issue, but:
iMac's TB > [TB to HDMI adapter] > [HDMI to DVI cable] > Acer AL1751's DVI input == Black screen after sleep, "no" recognition (somtimesyes/somtimesnot) after plug/unplug
iMac's TB > [TB to DVI adapter] > [DVI cable] > Acer AL1751's DVI input == IT WORKS!!
So, what if you connect an HDMI monitor this way:
iMac's TB > [TB to DVI adapter] > [DVI to HDMI cable] > yourdisplay HDMI input == ??

Dec 3, 2013 8:38 AM in response to kentendoby antspants77,This worked for me, but I guess it would depend upon your cable.
I have a Macbook Pro 13" Mid 2010 with mini display port.
I had my Samsung 46" LCD TV permanently connected to a HDMI cable and that cable permanently connected to the Moshi Mini Display Port to HDMI Adapter.
Before Mavericks, I used to just then put the mini display port into my Mac and as long as I selected the right source on my TV (HDMI4), up it came.
After the upgrade to Mavericks, when I plug the cable in I got the normal flash, while the resolutions sort themselves out, but then no input on the TV screen.
I once had success by putting it to sleep, by using the apple menu, waited for the little light on the front to start flashing to indicate it was asleep, then waking it with the cable in, but didn't work the next day.
I may have been me playing with the display modes (CMD-F1) ,but haven't got that method working again since.
And tonight I stumbled up a way to get it working.
Instead of removing the adapter from the macbook, remove the HDMI cable from the adapter and plug it in again. Works every time now. If you have an all in one cable, try removing it from the TV end and plugging it in again.
How bizaare.

Dec 4, 2013 12:00 PM in response to kentendoby MB85,Same problem here, both with the Moshi Mini Display Port to HDMI Adapter (which just does nothing) and the kanex Displayport HDMI Adapter for my 2010 MBP. Is Apple planning on doing something about this or is just accumulating these posts for a good laugh at the Apple HQ?????

Dec 4, 2013 12:07 PM in response to MB85by PilotConway,They are working these issues. There are developers, such as myself, who have submitted bug reports which are being looked at. Of course there is no way to know when these issues can be resolved, but I can at least say they are looking into it.

Dec 9, 2013 8:11 AM in response to kentendoby keltickev,I spoke at length to apple today and they suggest the following:
Go to apple system prefs, Mission control, and uncheck the "displays have separate spaces" box.
I am not near my monito at the moment so cannot try it but am assured this will work.
-
Dec 9, 2013 8:13 AM in response to keltickevby PilotConway,That will do me no good as the separate spaces is the whole reason I use two monitors in Mavericks.
