Hi guys,

Ever since I updated to OS X Mavericks, I've been having the problem with battery life. I never had this problem before updating, but now my battery lasts for less than 5 hours when I use Word or other apps. So I tried resetting PRAM and SMC and calibrating my battery as well. And I turned back on my MBA at full charge (100%), and the remaining time shows up as 5:52 Hours. And interestingly, the battery dropped to 98% in two minutes, although I didn't run any app to observe how the battery pattern. Do you guys have any idea what might cause this problem? Thanks!

Turn your screen backlight down to the lowest lever that you can work with.  I use level 5 or 6 (out of 16).

Turn off bluetooth if you aren't using it.

After several battery drain and recharges (never drain your batt low) your "remaining" time will be more accurate, however there is still a minor issue with the indicator for "remaining",  dont rely on same currently.

You need to differentiate between ACTUAL time on your battery and its indicated "remaining" time, ....while this has always been an estimate via software, it is currently in investigation by techs. to be fixed.

Most people (myself included) are getting actual longer battery life with Mavericks.

Also list in activity monitor your energy use on APPS etc, ....Chrome has gotten worse (however it wasnt good before on batt. use)
