Nov 26, 2013 8:24 AM in response to atlanticwinstonby Rudegar, your post is a bit vague
you post under appletv1g the old big alu appletv with a harddiskback from 2006
this model does not support airplay it only support the audio part and only in itunes
(there are times it does not show up as remote speaker option for me then if I start a song and stop it then show up)
if you does not have the old appletv version and mean airplay mirror from osx then maybe your mac is not supported
read this
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5404
if you have a windows computer and mean airplay mirror from that then thats not support read the program called airparrot may work but never tried it
if you mean airplay from ios then only iphone4S and newer and Ipad2 and newer support airplay mirror

Jan 9, 2014 7:54 AM in response to Rudegarby Lake Wales HS,Hello, Our High School has bought Apple TV's for the classroom and we are having a problem with the AirPlay not showing some of our Apple TV's. Its never the same ones, they seam to rotate. To be very clear, the TV will be there on Monday then disapear for the next three days then come back on Friday. For some reason When we want to connect our MacBook Pro's or iPad's (All on the current support list of Apple TV) to the Apple TV the TV does not want to show up in the AirPlay list.
Yes I have turned the TV Off and On again
Yes I have turned the AirPlay service Off and On again
Yes both devices are uptodate
Yes we are on the very same Wi-Fi Network SSID
Yes both devices get out to the Internet
Yes iTunes is configured
No I will not reconfigure 100 Apple TV's to fix a glitch every time they decide not to show up in AirPlay.
Got any ideas?
