This seems like I just must be missing something - but a client asked and I'm stumped. So here I have created a Document on my Wiki server and have not figured out how to delete it bafter trying for way too long - here I am.

It would be an option in the 'gear' icon menu, top line of the page, to the right side of that line.

But I as a user don't have enough privilages to delete things so I don't see that option.  As an admin you should have enough privilages.

If you see the screen shot on the linked page the gear icon is open and there is the option to move the documetn to a wiki - but no option to delete it - In the screen shot I am logged in as the user that created the Document - no delete option under the gear icon - I know that is the documented way to delete from the Wiki - BUT. I have also logged into the Wiki with the server administrators account - still no option to delete the Document from under the gear icon. Which is why I'm stumped.  HELP!

Sorry.  I should have tried that actual page since you did supply the URL.  I'm wondering whether there's something wrong with that page on your wiki system.

Try creating another page in your personal space.  It should give it some default text.  The first line of that default text should be

To edit this page, click the Edit (pencil) button. To delete this page, click the Action (gear) button and choose Delete.

    those deleting instructions should work.

Yes that is my understanding - though as you can see from the screen shot - there is no option to delete the page from the action gear popup. The real issue is that i have a client that has the issue as well - so it is not specific to this installation.

Here's today's screen shot of a new page created by myself in My Documents - no delete option. How do I fix this?

Sorry, I see no reason why it shouldn't be showing you the option to delete that page.  I suggest you contact Apple.

I have run into the same issue.

The only way I found to get rid of a page created in 'My Documents' seems to be to move it to a wiki and then delete it there.

You could then set up some kind of 'Recycle Bin' Wiki, where everyone can dump his 'deleted' pages into and every now and then an admin could delete all the pages completely.

Though, there MUST be a better way.

I've got exactly the same problem. Although I did just discover that I can delete documents when logged in with an iPad.

There is an option to "Delete Permanently" which doesn't work. But switching that off let's me delete.

This is still a problem as of 12/09/2015.

    Running Server.app version 5.0.15 / OS X El Capitan: 10.11.1

When I create a document within server.app > wiki > My Documents a blank template suggests:
"To edit this page, click the Edit (pencil) button. To delete this page, click the Action (gear) button and choose Delete."

The only Action Gear menu items visible are:

    - Move to Wiki
    - Hide Person
    - My User Settings

    - About

    - Help

Moving to a Wiki seems like a work around.  Wonder if the Delete function is removed due to a perceived permissions issue?

Anyone figure out how to directly delete documents; without having to move them to a Wiki?

just to close the item: yes, i also thought there is an issue. But the issue is just with the logic and the documentation. Once you have the files ("documents") in a Wiki (for which you have read+write permissions, you can click on my documents in the menu on the top left, then click the document, then click the property wheel and select delete.

It just happens to appear for files in a Wiki, not for any files which you may also add without a Wiki.

cduerr's solution may work if the document is in your own Documents section ("My Documents") but it won't work if it's in the main Documents section that all users share and you're not logged in as the wiki owner.

The way I deleted the document was to logout of my regular AD user account from the wiki and login as the wiki owner. ("admin", etc... however you have it set up)

Then you can navigate to the wiki Documents section and delete the file.

I have this problem as well and it looks like this is the latest discussion on the problem.  Doesn't seem like the problem was ever solved, but also seems like no one has had it since...except I do.  Found a solution though.  I ended up having to make a new wiki, then move all docs I wanted to delete to it, then delete the wiki.  Of course, you have to be the owner of the new wiki and docs.  Lame that I had to do this tedious work around, but it worked.
