Q: Maps shows no map in window-mode

When I use Maps on my iMac (9,1) sometimes the map disappears in WIndow-mode leaving me with an empty map with only a dot for my location and the destination. I restart maps, I restart the Finder but nothing works. The only thing that works is rebooting the Mac. This problem also appears on my Macbook Pro (5,4) After rebooting the Mac(s) things work nicely for quite some time, before starting all over again.

Strange thing is that as soon as I choose fullscreen, the map is shown immediately. Returning to Window-mode gives me an empty window again.

What's happening here??

    I had the same.

Only a grid in the Maps window.

(I had, last week used CleanMyMac to get rid of the other languages....so that only English was in the Languages list)

Went to the Languages in Settings and nothing changed (in Maps) till I added in Francais...it asked me if i wanted to use French or English, i chose English and at that moment my Maps is restored showing my home address...

    weird

I actually have the exact same problem.

Just a blue dot pointing my location, all the background goes to yellow.

Actually, it does show up the map when the app starts, but after like 5 seconds, it goes to all blank.

    Any advice here?

Did you try the Languages option in Settings?

Went to the Languages in Settings...(I only had English in there). I added in Francais...it asked me if i wanted to use French or English, i chose English and at that moment my Maps is restored showing my home address...and its working perfectly now.

no, it doesn't change anything. I already have Chinese there, and I remove then re-add it. nothing happens. Thanks anyway!
