Q: aperture 3.5.1 can not export tiff

As title, I cannot export an old tiff, generated with plug-in Nik Software 8 month ago. the export preset slot is blocked.

I thought before it was a problem of lack of update (I was working on snow leopard on aperture 3.2.4) and other bugs, so I decided to upgrade to Mavericks and install the new update.

I love Mavericks, but this is a big problem.

Sincerely in the last 2 weeks I'm really dissapointed by the lack of care for professional user!!!

Can someone help me or let me know if others have the same problem????

    Alex,

this looks like Aperture cannot access the originals, that are needed to render the images for export. Is your library referenced or managed? Can Aperture at least edit the images in question or export the originals?

If Aperture cannot manipulate the tiff images in any way, try to rebuild your library, there may a problem with the datebase.

If only your Export panel is acting up, trash the Aperture preferences -

there may be a problem with your Preferences file.

Quit Aperture and move the file   ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist   from your Userlibrary in your Home folder to the Trash.

Log off and on and try again to start Aperture.

Note:Your User Library is hidden by default in 10.7.x or later - to open it in a Finder window use the "Go" menu from the Finder's main menu bar.

    • Quit Aperture, if it is running. Log off and on again.
    • Open the user library by using the Finder's "Go > Go to Folder" menu and hold down the options-key, until "Library" appears in the drop down menu. Select it.
    • In the widow that will open, scroll down to "Preferences"
    • From the "Preferences" folder  remove all preferences files.

But deleting the "Preferences" file will cause Aperture to forget the preferences settings. Be prepared to have to reset all options you set using the Aperture Preferences panel.

I also cannot export either an original or a version.  I have mavericks and aperture 3.5.1.  When I tried to look up the aperture preferences file to delete it, I could not find it.  Hmmmm.  Is that a clue or am I moron (probably the latter)?

I tried searching in finder for "com.apple.aperture.plist" but could not find anything

Finally found the aperture preference file and deleted it, but I am still unable to export any images.  The export window(pane) opens up and the export button is in blue, but when I press it, nothing happens.

You should start your own thread, Piggybacking onto another thread, especially one that is over a month old, is unlikely to get you good results.

Explain your problem and your software and hardware configuration.
