Q: After running backup, iCloud not showing latest info in Contacts list

Hi

I have an iPhone 5 on iOS7 and have just run a backup (Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Back Up Now) but afterwards my iCloud account is still not showing the latest information in my Contacts list.   Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Elaine

Also - does my iPhone not automatically pick up any contacts I have in Hotmail?

iCloud only syncs iCloud contacts, not yahoo or hotmail contacts.

If you only have 2 contacts in your yahoo account that aren't in your iCloud account, it shouldn't take too long to sort out (it appears that 2 of the 4 are already in iCloud).

You can copy these contacts to iCloud by sharing them with yourself by email, select each contact, scroll down and choose share contact and then mail. Before adding them to iCloud make sure your iCloud account is set as the default account for contacts. settings > mail, contacts, calendars > contacts > default account.

Bingo!    That seems to have worked - I can now see the 2 missing ones on iCloud.com on my computer.

So going forward when I add a new contacts on my iPhone will these automatically sync with my iCloud account?

Yes they should, providing the device you enter them on has iCloud designated as the default account.

If you don't use the other accounts, it may be much more straight forward to delete them and just leave the iCloud account intact.
