Q: the macbook refuses to see a fully working airport why ?

Impossible to use firmware update as the "utility" says I have no airport...

    What version of AirPort Utility do you have? 

     

    If you are not sure, open AirPort Utility and click on the AirPort Utility menu in the upper left corner of the screen, then click About AirPort Utility. Post back with the version number that you see there.

     

    What is the mode number of the AirPort Express?

     

    If you are not sure, it is on on the side of bottom of the Express. Starts with an "A" followed by four numbers. Post back with that info.
