Q: Is iCloud equal to how much space is on your iPad?

I just bought more iCloud storage but it's telling me that I can't download any more games and music. What's going on?

iPad 2, iOS 7.0.3

iCloud storage has nothing at all to do with the amount of storage on your iPad.  Your iPad came with a fixed amount of storage (16,32,64, or 128GB) and that cannot be upgraded.

iCloud storage is remote storage on Apple's iCloud servers.  Buying more iCloud storage will let you keep more or larger backups in iCloud, or more documents and data for apps that support iCloud storage.  But it will not affect what can be actively stored on your iPad at all.

If your iPad is filling up, you will have to delete items on it - delete apps you do not use, or music, audiobooks, ebooks or photo's you do not need on it (but make sure you have those things safely stored in backup form somewhere else before you delete them on the iPad).
